I heard a rumor that the Nikkor 45mm Ai-P was made by Cosina. (on photo.net)

This isn't necessarily a bad thing to me. I own a couple of outstanding Cosina/Voigtlander lenses. Does anyone have any knowledge weather this is true or not - or if there are other Nikon/Nikkor branded lenses that were/are made by Cosina?

It's pretty common knowledge that the FM-10 and FE-10 were Cosina made. Perhaps the 35-70 zoom that came with these? I guess it's also pretty common knowledge that many of the Zeiss branded ZF (Nikon mount) lenses are made by Cosina. And the Voigtlander SL (I & II) series. And Cosina made a great series of modern lenses for the Nikon S (RF) mount.

Did Cosina make the modern RF mount Nikkor 50/1.4 or the 35/1.8? These are regarded as outstanding, highly sought-after lenses in the RF world.

This would be a good strategy for Nikon to outsource making some unusual lenses in short runs. Any other Cosina made but Nikkor or Nikon branded lenses out there?

Yes the 35-70 was a Cosina rebadged as a Nikkor. Nothing unusual. I believe some Tamron lenses are rebadged and sold as Sony and some Pentax lenses are from Tokina.

Thanks, Niko - I'd love confirmation on the 45 Ai-P - do you (or anyone else) know anything?
