holy crap HOW?
24-70/70-200 virtually 90% of the time; of that, I'd say it's a 80-20 split in favor of my 70-200.
I have the 50-1.4 and 60 2.8 in the bag for some cool shots when things aren't "demanding", ie bride is changing, getting ride, shots of jewlery, cake, etc.
35 1.8 is hardly used unless lighting is poor and I need something wider than the 50 1.4.
This is all on DX.
If I had a D700, would be the same, although I might add a TC 1.4 to the bag for the long end.
Depends on your shooting style too. . . .14-24, IMO, is too wide. . .

I have shot with Nikon F/2.8 lenses for the past 15-years. I always have two camera and keep the following lenses close when shooting. 17-35mm, 24-70mm, 50mm and 70-200mm. Depending on what I need during each event I ensure that changing lenses is easy and fast.
Pre-wedding preps - 17-35mm and 70-200mm
Ceremony - 24-70mm and 70-200mm
Formal Portraits - 70-200mm and 24-70mm
Reception - 50mm and 24-70mmHope this helps.

I guess it works for him? If he has 14-24 and 70-200, that's a pretty interesting focal length range. I don't think he misses what's in between. That's just my opinion though, and that's yours too. :D

Oh, wait. Sorry smarterchild—I didn't see you there. Good luck with the wedding. Sounds like you've got the gear pretty much covered.

Is picking up a rented D700 for 100. Pretty good deal for a weekend.
And jonny, I dont mind being a sherpa :). Its actually pretty nice at 200 a job :). Better then a job at mcdonalds

And that's another thing, smarter. How many Sherpas...er...high school grads own a D3?
That is a good deal on the rental. Is it a local place? The only place I know of here in Utah was more than that last I checked.
