Finally the long awaited new DSLRs from Nikon. The D90 replacement is supposed to be announced in the month of Aug-Sep. what do you think will be the price of this so called D8000 will be? I hope its not gonna be anything more then $1500. What do you guys think the ideal price range should be for this 16-18 MP camera.Cheers

it entirely depends on what direction they go.
If the D8000 becomes the NEW D300s/D90 combo, it'll be between current pricing of $999-$1700 body only, ie, $1399 body only, $1500 with a kit lens or something.
If they decide to keep a semi-pro body "above" the D8000, it'll come in at the same price point as the D90 at introduction, which is about $999 body only/$1299 kit.
I'm HOPING they'll introduce it as a D300s/D90 replacement, which will make ALL of DX a consumer-pro-sumer line; that'll force their hand at this new FX introduction this year to something more manageable in the $2k price range.
