as a matter of fact, the Tinypics is banned here in China; I think i need a proxy server to see what's behind the crosses.
blame it on the China Communist Party if you want.

i tried D90 before and i think there's a diffrent in color between the D90 and D40; is it because of the response curve or is it sth about the sensor?
I don't know. FYI, I think my Nikon D90 is currently set at "Vivid = +2" (not sure, it's not with me right now). Also, it was set at the normal, daylight white balance and the sun was low in the sky, so the color temperature was quite warm when I took this picture.
The couple of Sandhill Cranes at the bird sanctuary had two babies in the last week, one has already died, but this one is still safe with mum and dad.
cool shot
KM
Graphic natured thats a great baby shot nice and crisp. I like the contrast in the image.
I shot this last night and added some vignetting to it today..

I'm intrigued PBPM: What focus mode and AF area mode did you use for this and the hummingbird of last month? Did you use your D5000?Lovely shots btw.
I used my D300, I don't have a D5000, in continuous AF, 9 point dynamic area, for the shot of the crane. For the hummingbirds I used various methods, but I found the same 9 point dynamic to work okay, but I also used single point AF as well. I also use continuous high drive mode, as the chances of the AF nailing focus in these situations is mixed. Sometimes half the shots are in focus, other times only one in ten is in focus. Tracking birds in flight is tough business.
I asked because I just read in my D5000 manual that the camera gives priority to releasing the shutter in continuous mode and doesn't care if it has achieved focus at that time. Obviously not a problem though - I think those pics are fantastic.
Could have sworn it was you who had a D5000. :-?
Nope, the only D5000 I've used was for a few minutes at Best Buy. ;-)
nice shot Bland
Nice shots Kanuck and Foofiebeast.
The Green Hornet
Treckie nice shot did you use a flash ring, regular flash or none at all? With flash rings you can get extreme detail of your green friend. Very nice pic though
