    Please only post ONE photo per day in this thread. As a courtesy we ask that you keep your photos to under 800 X 800 pixels. If you need help on how to post a photo read through the Forum Rules & FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) thread for help on how to post a photo.

    If you have a flickr.com or Yahoo.com email account then you are welcomed to post your photos in our Flickr group and have them appear in our slideshow located at the top of the forum.

    So that we don't have people double posting to both the May and June Photo-A-Day threads within a short few hours, May's thread will remain closed as a reminder that a new month is about to start. Next month's photo-a-day (this thread) will become active in a few hours.

    I'm not sure why the old photo-a-day gets closed. Wouldn't it just work to make it so it's not sticky so that the photos could still be discussed?

    I was going to write to Niko in the last thread that we (or I, at least) wasn't attacking him. I wish there was more critiquing going on in the PAD threads than there is lately. It's a learning opportunity whether it's your own photo or not.

    I may sometime, Pete. I've had a flickr account for a while, but I don't have anything posted to it.

    Yes but now you have a new reason and purpose to using Flickr again, I like the fact that I can follow some of the NRF members on their Flikr postings, if I can figure out who they are

    I know it's been done. It's just the first time I've thought about it.

    BTW, this thread isn't sticky yet.

    Jonny it was closed because last month people complained that their photos were only "available for viewing" for a few hours before we changed to a new month. As if it was our fault they forget the month is ending. Now you guys complain that the month isn't "officially" over and want to keep May for a few hours more.

    I've explained why previous months get closed before. We had to close them because even after the new month starts some of you would still continue to post photos to the old month. I have no idea why you guys want to do that but some of you would. So we decided to close the threads once a new month begins. The flickr group doesn't get close for each month so you can always post there at anytime.

    And this thread is already a sticky.

    The world isn't in the same timezone as you. So NO in some places it isn't May anymore, DUH. Read my explanation in the second post above!

    @QuadraPixel, do you achieve those results with the IR filter?
    @Killermac, pay more attention to the background, for example look at kanuck's picture a couple of posts below you.
    @noxin, a really nice shot!
