    What a waste of time, properly the worst gigapixel picture to date Incl

    metal bars in front of picture

    problems with heat, everything looks soft

    and did I mention boring, boring

    Not to rain on your parade, Niko, but I think the record is actually the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, which is a 1-Terapixel collection of a huge part of the sky (each pixel had about 60 seconds of exposure)! My department just went from physics to physics and astronomy and bought access to its data last year.
