I bit the bullet on last Monday and bought a D700, I also live in the UK.
I love the camera, but I wouldn't say no to a MB-D10 since that is in line for my next purchase.
Anyone think I could go the shop with my receipt and ask for a MD-D10! :D

No, the offer is held by nikon not the retailer best thing to do is go into the shop, ask to return it onto a giftcard, and rebuy it on the 1st May.

Just phoned the shop I bought it off, they said come down tomorrow. They say it can be sorted as I have not registered the product they are willing for me to return and buy it back on the spot with the MD-D10 Grip! So that is a success in my book.
