Good afternoon !
I though it was about time I registered and said hello. So hello !
I've enjoyed reading NR since the beginning of the year when I was looking
to buy my first DSLR.
I'd used a Canon A1 from about 1980 until around 2000 when I joind the digital age and bought a simple digi-compact. ( I've still got the A1 and it still looks and works like new!) I'm also keen on astrophotography and have a dedicated astro camera and need to find some time and get using it again.
Any way, I was never happy with the digi-compact image quality and bought a D3000 earlier in the year and I'm really pleased with it.
I was toying with the idea of getting a D90 as I've had some SLR experience but
decided to hold back on that sort of spec camera until the D90 has been updated.
In the mean time I would like to get a wide zoom.
The Nikon 10-24 f/3.5-4.5G ED or Nikon 12-24 f/4G ED-IF AF-S have caught my eye in particular!!
What I'm unsure of are the practical differences between these 2 lenses and what
it is that makes the 12-24 more expensive of the two ?
I hope some one could help me choose which way to go.
