NIko, it would of been nice if it was only shot with Nikon all around it but it looks like NIkon was used for taking pictures and Canon to cover the video.
I know they're not all Nikons. Only two cameras. The rest are clearly 5Dmk2s. PDN is saying that they are Nikon D3Ss. I don't believe they are. If they are strictly for still photography why not just use one of the 5Ds? They are perfectly capable of taking stills too. Why go through the trouble of un-mounting and then remounting a different still camera?
In the above photo there is one Nikon and one canon but in another photo you can see two Nikons attached to the front of the car. They were also on a tight schedule. They only got 3 laps on one day and I assume 3 or 4 laps on another day. That's not much time to shoot. The race team was there to test and prepare the cars for the race and not to exclusively do the commercial. The commercial was the last thing they did.
I guess we'll never know for sure.

And yes, BMW pulled out of F1 about a year ago, but their M3 GTR has been doing pretty well.
Actually the cars are ALMS E92 M3 GT2 race cars. The team is actually partly owned by David Letterman. Yes David Letterman the late night TV show host.
They first went racing with these cars last year but had bad reliability. They turned things around towards the end of the year. The car is pretty fast but they only won one race last year and none so far this year.
