I heard a rumour a while ago that a new zoom was shortly arriving to re-place the 24-70mm which i'm interested in.
Does anyone have an update at all please?

All I can tell you is that I have heard that a bloke heard a rumour a while ago that a new zoom is shortly arriving to replace the 24-70mm

Not very likely to happen, the lens is still the best 24-70 Pro lens money can buy. I think you will see Canon update their crappy one first
