I think I've just found out that my camera, a D5000 bought last summer, has hot pixels. There's a green pixel and a red one that show up in the same place. It's there when I review pics (hi iso NR turned off) in camera. Oddly, iPhoto removes the offending pixels from exposures 1 second and longer when importing RAW files.
Given that it has taken me nine months to notice, should I live with it? Any camera settings you would suggest to minimize the issue?
It's not uncommon to acquire a hot pixel every now and then. I've found them at least once on each of the 3 Nikon digital bodies that I've owned. Just contact Nikon service and arrange to send the D5000 body in. They will map the bad pixel out and send the camera back to you (probably about a 2 week turnaround time but ymmv).
If you shoot raw you'll probably never see it except on the camera. Raw processors are getting smart these days.
