    Hello, Guys

Just a simple question here: which online store in Canada did you buy Nikon body, lens or accessories from or you know for good reputation, except Amazon.ca?

There is no B&H in Canada and I really want to find a good reputation one for online shopping of Nikon gears.

PS. Mod, this is not ad post. I just need some suggestion. If this is not acceptable in forum, you guys can give suggestion via PM?

    Thanks,

You guys can talk about other stores just don't put direct links to their webpages.

I generally buy my stuff from Henry's (used gear mostly) and The Camera Store in Calgary. I don't buy new stuff from Henry's very often because they normally sell at MSRP till the camera is replaced, at which point prices fall till they are gone. The Camera store tends to have good prices for cameras and lenses, $100-300 under MSRP depending on the item.

NikoDoby, I will only need the recommended name. I can google the web address not necessary for showing up here :)

PB PM, Thanks for the info. The camera store is only in Calgary, isnt it? I went to my local henrys yesterday, they do sell most of the stuffs @ MSRP.

BTW, Nikon Canada has a rebate program going on(kinda): buy D90 + any lens, you will get CAD$50 instant rebate

If you buy from the US and ship to Canada, do you get charged both US and Canadian tax or Canadian tax only? Or do they charge you only over a certain $?

Try "LL Lozeau", they are in Montreal on Saint-Hubert street and I think you can order from their website. I haven't found better prices and Canada guarantee is 2 years on D700 and 5 on the hight-end lenses. I don't know about the D90 garantee. I think they are the safest you can get.

Just make sure to leave me one.

The Camera Store will ship anywhere in Canada.

You would have to pay the US taxes and import duties, which include taxes. Technically you can file a return with the IRS and get the US taxes back, but in most cases it is not worth the effort.

another online only choice would be mostlydigital.ca i heard it recommended elsewhere on this site. looks good.

Also, i'll vouch for lozeau. i'm in montreal and that store is amazing. It's canada's B&H as far as im concerned.

Start with shopbot.ca and then go from there. Usual hits are adencamera, vistec, cendirect, mostlydigital and they are all really good except for vistek which charges too much for the bulk of their merchandise, although they have been known to have a few items at good discount. I've also bought a few things from henrys ebay page, but you have to try and find open box items to really get a good price. cendirect and aden are usually the cheapest and easiest to deal with.

shopbot is really a greate tool however I have to come here to ask as I do not know which store has good reputation to do business with.

    Thanks

all of the ones I listed are very reputable. I would recommend Aden and Cendirect above the others for price and for customer service. .

I've bought most of my stuff from The Camera Store in Calgary, both in person and online. Their prices are the best I've found, often better than B&H and other US dealers when you factor in shipping and exchanve (although with the dollar at par now, that's less of an issue).

I like buying from them as I've shopped there in person a few times while visiting relatives in Calgary, and get a good vibe from the employees there.

I just bought a 14-24 2.8f last week there (in person) for $1847, which is only about $50 more than B&H's price, with no dollar conversion.

I got my 14-24 from AdenCamera for $1700 even and didn't have to pay PST since its Onterrible. Oddly, the prices have gone up on that lens since December at most of the places that I watch. Just ordered a 300mm 2.8VR for $4600ish from Aden which beats the pants off of just about everywhere else that still stocks that version. Now if only I can figure out how to mount it to my P&S so I can find out whether or not Im actually a good photog or not. ;]

Looks like AdenCamera's 14-24 has a "new sale price" of $1869.99, so it's definitely gone up. That puts it pretty much the same as the Camera Store I think. Aden does look like it has good prices, though.

Henry's is a nice shop, partly because they are one of the few shops that still sells used gear, and take trade-ins. Not Sure I'd say they're "the bomb" though, since everything is sold at MSRP, which is a rip off in most cases.

Henry's actual store kinda sucks, but their ebay store is almost the bomb if you look carefully enough.

I agree. When the Canadian dollar was par yesterday morning, you could get a D700 for less than $2400 Cdn from Henrys ebay.

Add to that the fact that you don't have to pay PST in Ontario. At least for now. Part of the reason I decided to shell out for the new 300mm from Aden since 7% of $4800 is a pretty substantial additional savings.

You guys do know that Henry can price-match right? I think it makes sense to go with Henry's because i'd think Henry's is more reputable and policies are more liberal than smaller stores like Aden for example (just a conjecture), in addition to more locations
i asked them to match aden's price with no problem when i bought new sb600

Henrys only price matches in store, which doesn't really help online buyers from BC, like me.

Black is also reputable and they can do price matches. The goods on henrys ebay are sure cheap but are they open boxes?

Henrys ebay sells new, used and open box stock, which they indicate in the auction.
