Thanks for asking. Its a rather strange result from my 300mm. It was a fine sheet of river water trickling across the entire surface of a big block of granite in a busy creek in the woods. Shutter speed was maxed out and the depth of field was clearly rather shallow, but the resulting effect was a pleasant surprise.

The reason the black plane turned blue in a couple of the shots wasn't because of the software (Topaz Adjust4) I was using but because it was flying in smoke. I turned blue as well shooting these because I'm scared of heights! lol

Yup, I'm loading my pinhole cameras right now. What were your "settings" Monty?
Very funny ArthurH :^) Though I really do suspect some photos around here were actually taken with cameras other than Nikon.
Nice photos Bland.

Bland - your pictures are amazing, whish I could take those photos:)
Reg - really good environmental portrait
Arthur - nice composition, would look better if the dog will face the viewer not the background, but it's a really nice photo anywayPosted 3 years ago # -
Thank you Adam, yeah to me it was like the poodle was looking at the resemblance between the trees and himself - as if it were poodle trees. I know it was stupid...

Wow, that's a sweet job. I would love to be that guy standing strapped to the plane. Must be awesome! Nice photos Bland.

what lens was this shot with? was the DOF from the aperture or from post processing? It looks nice.

Thanks a lot! Was afraid it was just my mad brain...
DOF is from Sigma 150 f2.8 at f5.0. Really nice lens, it's a macro lens but much more versatile than that, and bokeh is indeed very nice.
Thanks again!Posted 3 years ago # -
Great depth of field on the bee one, Treckie.
I love that water one, Squamish—it's so interesting.
Brilliant composition, Regulator. Nice colors, too. You have a great eye for lines.
Arthur, I thought the caption should read, "Now, I know I buried that bone under a tree with blossoms... tree with blossoms... Oh, dear."
;-)Thanks for the pinhole heads up, Monty. I had some fun today with my d90 and a pinhole I made out of a spare body cap (I'd take a picture of the pinhole but I lent it to a neighbor now). I know regulator is going to regulate me for doing this, but I think I'll post a couple favorites (just another hazard of having two sons and not wanting to play favorites, I guess):

^ My little blue-eyed boy. ^

^ One of my other son on his scooter. ^ This was panning at 1/10s. Do they make VR pinholes for the f-mount? ;-)Posted 3 years ago # -
@squamish: Something very nice about that mushroom photo .. maybe crop away the bright light up top.
@arthur : That 150 sigma is my fav lens! Good to see some one else likes it.One from the sigma 150. recently.
