Are there any resources for purchasing new AIS lenses that have been discontinued, specifically the manual focus 85mm 1.4 AI-s?

Welcome, mmiles. I don't know of any, but have you tried ebay? I'd think there are some for sale there.

Unless someone has one locked in their basement somewhere, I doubt you'll find a new boxed copy.

Most AIS lenses were discontinued in 1998, with the remainder discontinued in 2005. It would be unlikely for any new ones to exist.

I thought Nikon was still producing the 50mm F1.2 AIS? I know one major retailer here in Canada has new boxed copies in stock.

Indeed, there still are several listed at Nikon's site.

You know there is lots of NEW AIS Nikon listed on Ebay, BH Photo has a few also. However if I was looking for new AIS glass it would be for the Zeiss brand

Voigtlander also has AIS lenses for a fairly low price. Their 58/1.4 is under $400, but I really covet the Zeiss 100/2 macro.

I got mine off of keh.com. Anything bargain quality and up will have good optics, though the bargain quality ones often have focusing rings that aren't perfectly smooth.
