Just noticed that the aperture control arm on my 50 1.4 AF-S has a small scratch (the black coating is gone and bare metal is exposed), probably from rubbing against the body-mounted aperture control lever on my D90. Started me thinking....then obsessing....about where that sliver of coating went. Pehaps flying around my shutter-box? My question: does anyone else notice any such issues on their lenses' aperture control arms? I feel silly thinking about such things but, hey, if a piece of dust can ruin a shot, a bunch of metal coating slivers building up over time can probably do much worse.

Metal shavings are in your breakfast cereal so I don't think there's anything to worry about if you find them in your camera ;^)
