Hi everyone, I've been lurking a while and own a D60 (got it for Christmas in '08). It was my first DSLR and I love it!
Like many, I'm ready - er, almost ready to upgrade. But will wait to see what comes next. I use my camera for pleasure but also to shoot photos of my listings as I sell real estate.
Anyway, I noticed last week that the D60 is no longer on Nikon's website and now there is an empty spot there (bottom right): http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Digital-SLR/index.page. Do you think that this is simply because the D3000 replaces the D60 and they decided to let the D40 run a little longer or is it possible they may be making room for something new?
I'm looking for a replacement of the D90 as my next purchase and I'm not really in a hurry although it would be nice to upgrade to auto focus my 50mm 1.8 and the Tokina 11-16. Now that I feel I know how to use the more advanced features in the camera, I think I could handle the extra features. The auto focus is the biggest downside to staying with the D60. It's hard to track a 4 year old running around, I like to shoot outdoors (birds and stuff), etc...so I'm ready for the upgrade.
