So according to a 17 year old "informant" posting in the comments section of the main blog, Nikon has been working on an EVIL camera for 4 years. It will be "equivalent" to a Leica M8 and will come in two flavors, 16 megapixels and 18 megapixels. They will have 1.3 and 1.6 crops and will be released with three new "mirrorless lenses". Expected announcement will come sometime between May and August and go on sale in the fall.
This 17 year old "informant" also says a 16 or 18 megapixel D800 is coming in with "same iso of d700 more megapixels (probaly 16) video and DX lens adaptor". The DX "adaptor" is apparently the DX crop mode? He says the D800 is not too exciting and just an update to the D700 with HD video and new sensor with the same ISO range as the D700.
The D800 info is similar to what I've been hearing. Not sure what to make of the EVIL stuff though. Why would there be two crops, 1.3 and 1.6? Perhaps a "pro" model and a "consumer" model?
What do you guys think?
