    Here is an article on the new Sony Second Generation sensor with a sample image comparing it to the First Generation sensor. It looks to be a marked improvement. The particular sensor is only a 10 MP sensor, but it would not be unreasonable to guess that the new technology will work its way into the rest of the Sony lineup. The question is when?

    I think these are for compact and mobile phone sized devices. Still cool though.

    This particular sensor looks like a smaller one, but I think they're engineering backside-illuminated sensors for their SLRs, too.
