What is nikon normal and/or worst shipping time for older lenses i pro range? The shop says that nikon dont provide delivery times to them. To me that sounds very very unprofessional. Nothing esoteric, I see the lens in stock on most big retailers. But I got a nice deal at my local shop. Was that a mistake?

Welcome to NRF. You have raised an interesting question. And, I am relating only my own experiences as this is not universal. Several years ago I was trying to be supportive of a local camera store. I ordered thousands of dollars worth of goods, but in most cases, even though I had prepaid to expedite the order, it was two to three months wait.
Eventually I found out the following: Nikon allows small stores a limited amount of credit and no orders will be shipped if it excess the amount a retailer is allowed. Thus, if I ordered a $1500 lens and the dealer had a balance outstanding at Nikon and less than the $1500 of additional credit, Nikon would not ship my item even though the money had been sent to Nikon. It was being applied to a previous balance.
I went through this for several years not realizing the dealer was using my money to keep his business afloat. And, unfortunately as Ritz Camera has shown, the retail business is tough. So, if your dealer is telling you Nikon will not tell them the shipping date, arrival time, etc., you may be in a similar situation. If Nikon has it in stock, which is not too difficult for the dealer to determine, then the shipping is in a week or so unless other circumstances such as I have described are present.
This is one of the reasons I now order from one of the sponsors of NRF exclusively. They are reliable and forthright.

As noted it depends on the store. I've ordered both of my pro lenses through a local shop, and the most I ever waited was two weeks.

Well. If they had waited an other hour I could have said that it took more than 14 days, now I can't :-)
