Hi there!
Just made my first videos of wild bees using the D3s + the Nikkor 105mm VR (handheld throughout - no tripod). The vid shows a female solitary bee (genus Osmia) nesting in abandoned snail shells in the dunes.
Hope you like it!

That's great, Nico. Did you plant the ant and the spider? Be honest.
Thanks! The jumping spider and the Cataglyphis ant came by surprise :o)
For those who are interested in videos made with the D3s, there is a dedicated group on vimeo

Why am I so fascinated by this bee playing with a snail shell? Pretty cool for a first video. I can't wait to get my VSLR one day.
The first was of his cute little daughter. You can borrow my D90 if I can borrow your D700, Aaron. I'm just down the street. ;-)
That's pretty cool. Thanks for posting.
Thanks guys! Note that the video is best viewed in full screen.

That's some pretty cool video. I know you handheld it, but next time I think using a small tripod might be better. And is the humming the autofocus in action?
Nice work!
But one of the worst, probably. That would be like handing your car keys to someone you met in a college class or something. I was only joking because I wouldn't trust myself with your camera. But my time will come. Nikon needs to announce the D700 replacement here soon so that the price can drop by the time I buy it later this year.
Yeah, that's what I keep telling people in my classes, Niko. All I want to do is go out to the dunes to shoot video of bees, I tell them (getting back on topic).
