But they had different values in each rating category. Odd that Nikon rated better in Raw, but Canon better in Jpeg.

DpReview stated that it is hard to really test AF performance, and real life Pro's will end up making the final evaluation, but it will properly be close to the D3s

On area that DpReview does very poorly is rating how DSLR will meter with a Flash. I have newer liked how overall poorly the Canon system meters TTL with their flash system, Nikon is by far better

Media tends to like an continuing contest. If either Nikon or Canon decisively won, there is less to discuss.

From my discussion with both Canon and Nikon DSLR users both believe their cameras have reached levels where they can uniformly produce superb images. Both systems have many lenses, third party lenses, dedicated flashes, all the tools needed. The differences now seem to lean towards Nikon because of it's superior autofocus, TTL flash and ergonomics, although most people I know have no intention of ever changing systems.

I think you're right there, Ted. Both are great systems. I like Nikon for the ergonomics—button placement, menu system, etc., but it's not as if they don't have room for improvement even there.

No matter what Nikon did, they could not ever please everyone. Still the best available for my use.

I thing that too Jonny. A lot of improvement can me made with just some firmware upgrade.

Yes I found the DXO reviews to be very surprising actually. The new Eos 1ds Mark IV comes in at only 16th! Thats much lower than many other Canon bodies that were already reviewed. The D3s ranked much higher and gets a particularly astonishing rating for low light of course. This has got to be disappointing for Canon. I can't wait til the new D700x or whatever the new body is to be called. This release will put Nikon further ahead of Canon! ^^:

I don't understand why many people are selling their Canon 5D Mark II cameras for this new Canon Eos 1ds Mark Iv camera. I know I wouldn't..
