This is probably should be an email directly to admin of NR. But I still decide to put it here to gather more opinions:

How does admin decide to mark the camera body and/or lens in Price Watch section as "wait – update expected*" instead of "buy" or what fact(s) will change the status of the product?

We all know there are alot of rumors saying D700 and D90 are going to be upgraded/updated soon however why only D700 is the only one been marked as wait and D90 is still buy?

Hope this does not bother anyone much :)

I don't really know how he decides what to put on the recommendations in the price watch. I think he does it based on how many rumors of their replacement he's heard, but I'm not sure about that. I think D700 has been -wait- since last fall, though, so it's not fool-proof.

B&H has the D700 for $2,400 now. It was $2,600 2 weeks ago.

The D700 was around $2450 at BH a while ago but you didn't see that price until you added it to your cart.
