Yes I don't trust sigma but dang this sounds good. If Nikon's new f1.4 85mm turns out to cost as much as the new $2200USD 24mm and if Sigma's is near $500USD then I'm interested, maybe. IF sigma gets their quality control straightened out.

I wonder about the specs on the 8-16 zoom. That could be fascinating to play with.

Very interested in the 85mm.

will not even look in that direction till I see some tests\reviews

If the IQ and build quality will improve than I'll get one.

There seems to be a new Bigma too.
Also, that 8-16mm wide angle, that seems more like a M4/3 lens to me. Multiplied by 2, that's a 16-32. Seems just about right.
Also, what's the point of having two DP2 cameras?

Yeah that's what I was thinking too NSX. There would be some major distortion at 8mm for a DX lens!

The 8-16mm is a APS-C lens.

interested in the 85 1.4 ONLY if it comes in at about $699. . .Sigma's QC, focusing issues, etc. have kept me away from them for. . .essentially ever. . .

I played with the sample at PMA yesterday....Feels exactly like my 50 1.4HSM...they did not know the price when asked but i would be surprised if it was much more than $550 or so. Also, they only had canon mount so I couldn't get a good feel for the optics but was not overly impressed on the canon 30D i looked at it thorugh.
