I would be completely happy with a 1/8" mini jack for flash triggering like they suggest. My alien bees have the 1/8" jack and then I had a cord with mini plug to PC plug for the D300. The PC standard isn't great anyway—I accidentally tried to force a bent PC plug into my D300's PC jack and damaged the jack (it still worked).

This is as bad as when a company puts a unique plug on their USB connector.
