I think it would be great if DSLR would have an accessory electronic viewfinder option like that is offered by Olympus and Panasonic for their Evil models without viewfinder.

The viewfinder would simply attach to the hotshoe and powered by build in contacts like it's done on the compact Evils. This way shooting video with larger lenses could actually be done like you shot pictures.

Just a guess, but I don't think the current viewfinders were designed to do the kind of throughput needed for an EVF. You could still mount it to the hotshoe, but you would need to send the information via a cable of some sort.

Yes you are right, but like the with Panasonic/Olympus the accessory electronic viewfinder is powered by contacts just below the hot shoe and I was wondering when we would see something like that on future DSLR models, it would certainly improve the video mode

I dont want to get rid of my spyder shutter but i want it to go full auto. Is there a specific electronic trigger I should buy? And do I have to get that electronic board? I know I can upgrade the shutter to full auto and i'm thinking about getting a 16" barrel thanks in advance.
