If not just make something up, we need something new and funny here at NR:

So maybe you have seen a new Evil camera from ??? at the Olympics in Vancouver or a friend of some relative was on a flight and talk with someone from ??? and they have a New ??? etc

Anyway a friend of my Uncle in Denmark, who is related to someone working in Nikon Promotion assured my Uncle that there will be a new D700 replacement with an even better video feature that current available from Canon. Then again he might just have been teasing my Uncle who has only ever used Canon gear

A source told me that the D700 replacement will be much better than the 5D Mk 2 in every way but he also told me that the 5D MK 3 will be better than the D700 replacement as well. He said that I might have a happy Easter if D700 replacement is what I am looking for.

I have it on good authority (I'll call my source e. here...no wait, exit h.) that Zeiss is about to update their entire ZF line with the screw-driven F-mount autofocus system. Also, Zeiss's US prices will be coming down due to the stronger dollar (or weaker euro, however you want to look at it).

JA - I doubt they will do it, as only last year they updated the mount to ZF.2. anyway I keep my fingers crossed for AF, as I'm in market for zeiss this year

I'm totally busted here, Adam. I was just making it up, but it seems like they should consider it, and Pete and I have discussed it before. The ZF.2 was a step in the right direction.

I heard another rumor that Nikon is selling a modified version of the D3s sensor to a third party company making a f-mount camera. Mainly for night and astronomy photography.

There are the specs:

No optical view finder, no mirror.
4.3 inch Rotating LCD
Build in image stacking software.
Bluetooth and GPS included.
Build mechanism to switch between Infrared and visible light filter.
Special cooling unit to cool the sensor for higher sensitivity
Up to 12FPS
..
