LOL ... I like their definition of the word "compact"

"The new camera will be cheaper and as compact as the Leica s2."

By cheaper, I hope they mean $20,000 cheaper!

Holy crap, if they think the Leica S2 is cheap... wtf?

And I thought the D3x was expensive!

I love it. "The new camera will be cheaper .... [than] the Leica s2"... One of the most expensive cameras around.

Very interesting if this turns out to be a completely new Hasselblad system. New camera, lenses, everything.

Hmm...what about a rebadged Nikon body with a fat full frame sensor stuffed inside somehow? Maybe that's how the Nikon MX (medium format) rumor got started?

Well, it looks like the "compact" camera did not pan out. Instead, they give us the H4D-40. I thought the compact camera is a great move.

Yeah I'm disappointed! Just the marketing people trying to build up hype.

I believe the reason why the compact rumor got started is that from a price point the H4D-40 will fit in between the D3X, and the Lieca S2, leading people to believe a completely new camera was coming. This is supposed to be Hasselblad's answer to the S2, undercutting it by about $12,000.

Personally I believe it will do better than the S2. Leica will need to develop the S system a bit more before pros really sign on, and invest a considerable amount of money it.
