    I'm looking for some software that is hopefully free that will stitch a relatively simple time lapse together. Anyone have suggestions?

    yeh I think you need quick time Pro tho (not sure if simple version got the settings)
    but its very simple and quick (thats what I was using)
    under File ther is option "Open Image sequence"

    so quicktime, you are able to put a batch of photos together to make a movie?

    ive been thinking of doing a sequence of images at max shooting speed. simular to nikon f5's commercial shot on a nikon f5

    QuickTime gives you ability to put files and set frame rate for them... I think u can also add music to it but I havent tried it

    ill have to try that! i was going to make a short movie on my d3 and put them together.

    aka chase jarvis has a video on his blog of him shooting 21,000 photos all night at a party and put them all together. its real neat

    Try this, too. I've liked using it. It does startrails stacking or time lapse movies and it's free.
