I've played with Lightroom 3 Beta a bit, but not enough yet to form any opinions. Does anyone have any comments on the Beta yet?

Sorry - didn't do a good enough search. Seemed to have missed that topic all together when it was "hot" Thanks

No problem warprints. Have you experienced the sluggish uploads with LR3?

Somewhat sluggish uplaods, but I thought that was due to my using LR3 on an older laptop, while my LR2 is on my tower. I'll play around with that some more and pay a bit more attention.

I find that the RAW converter in LR3 beta is better than the version that works with LR2, but I've only ever used the LR3 beta and the LR2 trial. I find LR to be slow in general, the interface is so cramped and busy.

Sluggish uploads are a known problem. My computers can handle massive photoshop files but when I upload a 1gb card with RAW files to LR3 it just hangs for several minutes! Not a good start to LR3 but it's still just a beta.

Mine is fast. I use the 64 bit edition. Uploads are pretty okay too. I would rather deal with LR3 uploads than flickr'stupid uploading tool.

Question for you lightroom people:
In Aperture I can press the "F" key and it immediately goes to full screen mode. Pressing the "Z" key after that zooms in to 100%.
Is there any similar hotkey functionality in lightroom?

In lightroom, F toggles through normal, maximized, and full screen. I always work in full screen mode, though.
tapping spacebar is the zoom in/out hotkey, and holding it down gives you a temporary zoom and changes the cursor to the hand so you can drag the image on the screen. Here are some other handy hotkeys for lightroom that I use all the time:
CTRL+/ shows all available hotkeys for the module you're in.
L toggles between normal, lights dim, and lights out modes. It's nice for previewing without any clutter on the monitor.
SHIFT+TAB hides/shows all flyout panels

Weird... "F" doesn't work for me. I'll have to dig around in the settings and see what's up.

I guess you're probably on a mac, aren't you, Willis? It may be SHIFT+F and SHIFT+L. I've never used it on anything but a pc. You'd probably use COMMAND+/ to see hotkeys.
