Not sure about the "credible" part, but it seems believable. I just hope nikon goes with the D3S sensor and not a 20MP. Being able to crank the ISO up is worth more than anything else (to me anyways). If the video function is close to on par with Canon's 7D I will be having all kinds of fun with this thing in the near future.

I've heard this also but there are so many conflicting specs that nobody can be sure. Well except Nikon :^) Nikon needs to move up to more megapixels so 18+ makes sense on future models. Sensor tech is getting better and better so I don't doubt that we can still get good ISO performance AND more megapixels.

Less than 14 days till we find out officially, maybe perhaps.

I'm with Niko. I say put as many as they can get on there if they keep similar high-ISO performance to the D700. Keeping the price about the same as the initial D700 price would be awesome. How about it, Nikon?

Just been to a camera shop in Launceston in Tasmania. The price of the D700 has dropped they say and it's now $3699.00 Australian dollars. Sorry i don'y know how much it was before. Still pricey i think. Camera looked great. Not got one yet but i am waiting to see what happens. And thank's for the welcome. :)

Please if there are more Mp don't let it be a noise machine like the D300. I hope it stays like the D700 or the lord of darkness (D3s) but with the D3x sensor! Fingers are crossed :)D

    Awww got me excited lol.

I've bought an SB-900 and a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 off ebay from Hong Kong, amongst other little bits and pieces. But for a camera I'll probably stick to a walk-in shop.

But is the reassurance of speaking to someone face-to-face worth $1000 extra?
