Yes, everything is going to be announced tonight at midnight US Eastern time.

Niko, thanks for explaining the product release process in details. Nikon has been following it without any major deviations for at least 2 years now (since I started running NR). As far as I know Nikon has never announced Coolpix and "serious" stuff in one press event, but this doesn't mean it will never happen. If we see only Coolpix cameras tonight, they should be another event in the next few days for the remaining two lenses (24mm f/1.4 and 16-35mm f/4 VR) or the other way around.
Not knowing all the details makes it exciting :)Posted 3 years ago # -
Speaking of details, what time should I go over to your house tonight? And what's the theme for this Nikonrumors party? I'm ironing my tuxedo T-shirt just in case you make it more formal than your previous parties. Since your Leica friends might be there tonight I want to look presentable and not embarrass you... too much.

I usually only wear this when I shoot at weddings.Posted 3 years ago # -
Niko, you're hired!

HEY NOW mb! Admin doesn't do those kind of parties...anymore ;^)
Looks like I'm going to miss all the fun though. I've got to go show my support for Mrs. Doby at her friend's tea party so I'll be running late :^(
Yes, that is a whip you hear cracking

So I ironed my tux for nothing. Just a bunch of COOLPIXes and no new lenses :^(
We will see what happens now on Feb 4/5th

Seriously, how boring.
On the upside though, there might be improvements with the Coolpixes, the P100 switched to a CMOS.

I doubt the image quality will improve much on the P100. I have a CMOS Sony and IQ did not improve over it's CCD predecessor. In fact side-by-side I prefer the images of my older CCD camera slightly more.
