Alright Apple has their extended service called "Apple Care" and it is actual overall well liked. I have used it a few times, many of my customers have and they have been very helpful

Should Nikon make a "Nikon Care" product. It would offer extended warranty, free shipping, free product support. Maybe even offer a "Pro Care" plan with extra help incl faster repair, loaner etc

    What do you think

They already do it's called Nikon Professional Services. Though service could be better sometimes. I believe in other countries a similar service is offered on a consumer level too.

Actual you are right Niko, even Canada has that Pro Service Plan, but you have to qualify to get it

I still would like to see a Nikon Care product for normal consumers

I think there are plenty of third party product care plans already. Just about any store you buy from will also try to sell you their extended plan.

I'd rather Nikon build it right from the start!

5 years seems like enough to me... Applecare extends your warranty from 1 to 3 years, after all, seems like Nikoncare is just built in already :).

don't they offer the ESC with bodies?

I bought mine for $59 for my D200, extended the original warranty by 2 years. . .so three years for $60 of peace of mind is a deal to me. > >!

Not really, because I wouldn't buy it anyway.

Besides, wouldn't they prefer me to buy a new body/lens? That equals better profits.
