Hi all. I having an issue when I load my pictures to facebook/picasa/etc.. The pictures lose most of the color and just look awful. I know this was discussed before but I can't find the thread. Can anyone direct me to the thread or give me any advice? I'm using iPhoto. Thanks.

The two things to check are the colorspace you're using when you export the photos and whether your monitor is calibrated. Is this a recent problem? I'll go look for the other thread.

OH gosh not that thread again! lol. What program are YOU using seba316? It's no big deal it's just a matter of using the proper color space. Unless you have a bad monitor as was Kellen's case.

    Thanks guys.

It is the same monitor, on my computer using iPhoto they look fine but once I export them they lose most of the color and look awful. I'll read the thread.

OH snap that sucks seba316! You're using it with a Mac? Post a sample image and I can tell you the color space it's using.

Strange things happen with color all the time. I uploaded some images to Flickr to use them in a flash gallery for my website. In the gallery the colors look quite different from the colors on Flickr. Actually in this case though I think I like them better!

Yes, I'm using iPhoto on a Mac. These are two examples. On iPhoto the pictures are much more colorful...

I guess you'll just have to wait until they make you a mod, alpha. I solved the problem for you this time.

Seba I don't see any color profile associated with your photos but I'm not sure if that's picassa just not including the info. Normally you want to save your pictures with an sRGB colorspace. This could explain why they look more or less colorful in different applications. Some sites are just not color aware. Are you using Safari?

Your photos don't look that dull to me.

Yes, I'm using Safari. The color profile says RGB not sRGB...

Maybe the second post on this thread would help:

edit: actually, the third one might be the way to go if you know what to do with it.
