Jurgen: great bird, great composition, great sharpness, and exactly the type of bokeh I think is the best. Well done!

Pippi, nice sky. And I agree with all the comments on Squamish's portraits...it's just one after another. There was a time when I used to collect shells. This one is a lace murex. Shot in my basement, with all ambient light provided by a single household halogen desk lamp, reflected with a piece of poster board. The shell was placed on a piece of glass, which sat on top of a piece of black construction paper. The only major PP work done was to remove all the dust and other artifacts that showed up with a longer exposure. 69 clones in all.

Thanks for your kind words Golf!!!

This time I had to cheat and use a stick with a notch in it as a monopod. Tough back lowlight and back lighting....

Due to office I had zero time for new pics, so I'll post one of my older favourites:

This shot of yours Squuam, reminds me of the type of head-shots that Peter Hurley does. Well done :D

Yeah, but you'd lose a couple of stops with that.

From a techno-contra dance last month - white balance and lighting do not exist there. The primary light source is typically blacklights at these events. No noise reduction was applied.

Shot last spring, on an unseasonably warm (70F) March morning where the water was still about 35.

costalcon: You produce spectacular results with the equipment you have. If I were to win the lottery I would give you a D4, D800, 300mm2.8, 400mm2.8 and 500mm4 just to enjoy the bird photos you would produce and post with that gear!

Running errands with the camera in the front seat I occasionally find something that deserves a click. I think she's (?) a beauty.

Donald, on the off chance you do, I have a rather modest list as well.
