Greybagel's and Benji's produce shots got me thinking about something I did last spring out of boredom. I sliced the kiwi very fine, almost to the point of translucence, and positioned a halogen behind it.

D90 105 f/2.8 @ f/5 .3 seconds ISO 200
I hate to post behind Bagel...he uses decoys! Great shot as usual Bagel!!
Pippigurl: nice colors and composition
I love the color gradient in the sky, pippigirl. Someone needs to clean their sensor, though. :p
D800 • ZF.2 100mm f2 @ f8 • 1/200 • ISO 100 • 2 x Elinchrom 400 watt strobes
SquamishPhoto: that last one is perhaps the best portrait you have posted; the skin really glows!
Back to my series of limiting myself to shooting wide open.
D600, 50mm 1.4 at 1.4.

+1 :P ... Nice picture never the less
@coastalconn: I don't know how you do it but your skill as a bird photographer rocks. Best in the house in my book.
@donaldejose: looking good mate....keep them comping.
@hammers71: Nice B&W, but you cut off the top of the head and some of chin. Not sure if this was done in post via crop or just the way you took the shot. My recommendation would be for shot of this nature to shoot vertically. Just giving you some feedback to think about.
@proudgeek - Great shot and idea. The translucence of the kiwi really shows great detail.
@Pippigurl - Many thanks!
@Squamish - Unbelievable.
Had our first snowfall yesterday so snapped this in the yard
Thanks Jan and others who made comments on my photstream, much appreciated. My share is a landscape from southern Utah....

Thanks, greybagel.
I really like the placement of the shed in the background and the scattered snow bokeh in your winter scene. B&W really helps it too.
@ Pippigurl, you have quite the creative/artistic eye!!
@ Hammers, you look kind of Steve Job-ish if I might say so.
@ rschnaible, another beautifully sharp and colorful landscape.
@ Squamish, what can I say.....
For today:

D800, 100mm Zeiss Makro-Planar T* ZF.2 @ f/4 ; 1/350sec ; ISO 50
Unfortunately I cannot often post as most days I do NOT have reception for internet access. Often whilst moving about I gain access briefly for viewing on my iphone and it never seems fair to only comment on a couple of photos.
@rschnaible - Well done, a very appealing capture, landscapes like this enspire me to get my wide lense out.
@rx4photo - Its not always easy to get in and get these little creatures, good work, heaps of detail. I'd be keen to try a D800 & some quality Zeiss glass like that ;-P
I photographed this tulip during day time and used spot metering to make the subject stand out more & everything else is from camera settings, not PS, except watermark/resize of course.
D300S - Nikkor 105mm macro - ISO 400 - F11 - 1/13sec (handheld).
Nice portrait squamish. Here's something similar, though your subject is nicer :p This is my dad's wife, she needed a picture for her CV.
Page 26 is very nice!. Good portrait work Rifqi, something I never really got into.
This one again is best viewed at full resolution.

Another great page of interesting shots everyone! ^^ Its cool to see some work with the D800 + some Zeiss glass Squamish and RX4 :)
Anyone like news photos.... and yes that is water bubbling out from the street. An 8" (20 cm) water main had broken.
And, the recent posts on PAD continue the excellent examples of the members of NRF. Very nice work.
Another shot of the guy carrying the canoe earlier in the thread... of course a folk dance weekend would see someone packing a canoe and a mandolin at the same time. :)
D800 - AF-S 85mm f/1.8G - f/2 - ISO 800 - 1/2000sec
Thanks to all for your comments...and especially to Squamish & Msmoto concerning the sensor. I have had this D7000 for less than 3000 snaps and now see that it will need to get more attention. I looked and it is especially noticable in that blue Carolina sky. Cleaning this morning.
BTW...+1 goes out to Squamish...such a beautiful portrait...the best yet! So many other great shots here too.
