Good to know. I was about to go and buy one tomorrow. They guy only sold the body plus battery. Kept the charger for himself. Makes this even a better deal now that I don't have to get a new one. ha, great start for this new year for me.

LOL, what a greedy guy ;^)

I believe it should be fine, but be careful, just in case.

Yup it's all good. I tried it already. Works great.

I am really happy that I got this deal. Everything is in place, just where you would expect it to be. Just awesome. Now I am beginning to hate how crummy the controls were on the D70s compared to the D200. I will never go back to that series of Nikon cameras. Controls ares just beautiful.

"It's all good" :^) (Yes, now I can dismantle my other charger!)

I totally agree, as soon as I touched my D300 it became painful for me to hold anything else. Oh D300, thou has such beautiful ergonomics and handling. The D70's such a trash heap ;^)

There's no turning back now! Hehe, D3S here I come!

Oh, I'm not sure if I want to go that direction. First I'll play around with my D300, get some FF lenses, and when the time comes I'll see what I need. Chances are I'll either end up with both a DX and FX D###, an "H", an "X", the F6, or a car ;^)

I was doing a test shoot the other day, getting ready for a shoot I have tomorrow with this girl, where I was switching between the D300 and 2 F4s. It was so much easier to slam my 105s onto the F4s and just go, rather than go through the menus to select the non-cpu lens preset, and then compensate for the crop factor by moving back.

Ergonomics of the Dxxx cameras are still behind what I want. Until I can set hyperfocal distances easily and lock focus at a given range of focus with AF-S lenses, I'm not going to be happy with the digital SLRs. I would personally save my pennies, jump to the D300s, given the much more modern sensor. But at that price, I may as well just cut my losses and get the D700 level system.

I'm guessing you don't like the F6 either then, eh?

Actually they messed up on the D300. On the D200 it's much easier to enter lens information, you don't have to enter menus. Just program the function button and then you can enter lens data through the control panel. Not as easy as the F4s, of course, but better.

And trust me, you had it a lot easier than I do. With my pre-Ai I constantly have to dial in compensation! Another reason to get an F4. *sigh*

What sort of compensation are you dialing in? Usually I don't even bother inputting the lens information to the D300 if I'm using a manual lens since I generally ignore the light meter anyway and use my eyes.

Well, because of my broken couple, I've glued the coupling ring to the place it should be for my 80-200mm to work properly. So the camera thinks my 50mm ƒ/1.2 is always at ƒ/11, and so I dial in the compensation to get correct exposure depending on which aperture I really am at.

You're amazing. You don't even need a light meter to take pictures. I wish I could do that.

4/5.6 and 125 for a subject in shadow when I'm using plus-x 125, 8 for indirect sunlight, 11/16 for direct sunlight, bingo. These are baselines of course, I modify my settings depending on what i want to exaggerate.

Your meter has no idea what it's talking about, all it's trying to achieve is 18% grey, which is pretty boring. This is why the exposure compensation dial exists. I -hate- setting exposure compensation. I'd rather just move my aperture ring or shutter speed knob a notch or two, it's the same thing.

Then turn on "Easy Exposure Compensation" for heavens sake, it's just the same as moving dial, no buttons necessary!

And don't insult my 1005 pixel RGB sensor with 3D Color Matrix Metering II. Humph! :^P

You're right though, it doesn't know what it's talking about, but at least it has a better idea than me! :^)

I don't even know what easy exposure compensation is, aside from my aperture rings or shutter dials, but it sounds like a clever ploy to get me to use one of those newfangled cameras that can take a polaroid and display it behind plastic on the back of the camera almost instantly.

    LOL!!!

"Easy Exposure Compensation" just makes it easier to use compensation. Let's say I'm in aperture-priority mode, since the shutter speed dial is not in use it becomes an exposure compensation dial. Personally, I find it too easy to compensate exposure like that, so I just push the blasted button to compensate.

Oh that. I had that turned on in my D70S for a little, but it just annoyed me, so I just compensate using the front dial to change aperture.
