Chris- ive saw a few of your pictures and all of them you said were film. I loved this shot but i am curious though on how you scan the negatives on. I love shooting film and developing in the traditional darkroom and printing them. But i would love to get them digitally. any suggestions?

    Smarterchild, welcome to the forum.

I think you should start a new topic on how to best scan film since i'm sure others would like to chime on it too and the photoaday isn't really meant for long discussions.

Or Chris can you start the thread as your response?

I'd love to, Niko, I could write a step by step guide if you like, maybe it could get stickied?
I can't write it all in one go, but over the course of a few sessions I'm sure I could get it out.

    and, just for good measure:

No need for an apology smarterchild. It's a good topic and I just think it merits it's own thread. It also helps to have a separate thread so when someone does a search in the future they find it right away instead of looking through the photoaday for it :^)

It looks good to me at this size. What mistakes do you think you made? Great shot.

Well I think I should have locked in my ISO / Exposure to make them constant throughout. There was another series I did where it would take a lot of difference in the brightness from shot to shot. Also i think something like water could use some more blending between shots. Photoshop has some trouble lining up the horizon line so I had to do some manual fixing there. I captured a pretty wide field of view so maybe thats the reason why...if you were standing there looking out you would not se the rocks or mountains on the side. Anyways i guess I just felt like I made some error doing this one but I just need to read up on it I guess

Would be better for me at least if the horizon is leveled not the beach ...

gen - the horizon needs to be leveled

aes - the stitching looks ok, I'm not in favor of putting the horizon in the middle, but Your pano really looks ok

Growing up, my wife had a goose (it's still alive) called gordon. She thought it was male until it started laying eggs.
