Don't worry about that. Some of the bird photographers who are very good at selling their pictures often have some strange crops. Check this guys gull gallery out:

He has what many standard photographers might consider weird or strange crops. Nonetheless his pictures sell.

Thanks adamz, I was scared of what you would say haha. But you are totally right, Im not happy with any shots I got that day. All the eagles were just too far away even with a 500mm on a dx camera. I want to go up again if the rain stops and try to get something better.

I like the unusual composition of the 1st one. It works! Now you have me wondering what an ugly feeder looks like. You may have to post a picture.

We had about 4 hours of Sun here today in Vancouver, and I managed to stumble upon these fellows in Stanley Park. We don't get many wood Ducks here, so these were a nice surprise.

White-Throated Sparrow. These are rare in California and only in winter. This one was in San Francisco.

Hey, isn't that the one I took a picture of? How'd it fly all the way over to California ;^)

Outstanding shot Gentoo, great DOF, very sharp too—taken with your new lens? :^D

Thanks alpha and yes, he told me to tell you hi. This shooting I did in the Bay Area was the first time I really tested that lens. The lighting was dodgy as well. I'm glad I was able to get a shot as I said, this species is rare out this way. That lens on the D300 is almost an unbeatable combination.

In the rain as well ;^)

Well, you got the shot, regardless of lighting and whatnot, and a rather good one too! :^D

PacificEagle you capture wonderful colour and sharpness in your images. I saw the sun come out today and I had to be stuck in a meeting while it finally came out :(

I just wish the focus was a bit further back on that one, Aaron. And where are the lolcatz phrases? ;-)

I wish it was too, but for some reason cat just wouldn't hold still on command. (Not to mention you'd probably make out the hand on it's neck a little more)

gentoo - nice shoot, finally some other picture format than square :)

aaron - I like Your cat shot a lot, however have to agree with gentoo that it's little bit front focused, could be more deep or moved back so the eyes will be in focus

PE - I really like Your 1st and 3rd shot

California Quail. I believe I was at my limit with this shot. It was overcast and under the trees AND under some bushes. I had to shoot at around 2500 ISO I believe, hand held and no VR.

Oh, yeah, I forgot I hadn't commented on your wood duck, PE. Beautiful shots—especially the first one.

Not bad under the circs, gentoo.

Luckly i'm just doing this for fun....I would probably starve if I tried to sell anything ;)
