No big deal admaz, it's just that, it's not always possible to get into a better position. Even if it is, that doesn't always mean you should. I believe that one should never disturb ones subject or disrupt it's natural activity.

As far as your shot, seems ok to me. I just just don't like B&W.

    Meerkats always make good photos....
Adam: I do thank you for your critique. It was very valuable. I will look forward to it in the future. Gentoo was correct re the cheetahs; that angle was the only one possible...without getting into the space.

I was pleased with the lion shot. It was neat seeing them feed on the "enrichment" food. It is brought out at certain hours in large cardboard boxes and then the animals dig through them.

I also liked the duck shot, though your pointas are valid; too centered. Although, that certainly does make you focus on the duck.

The lens I was using was a very cheap ($165 new) Tamron 70-300mm one. I am still learning how to use the D90. I need to work on learning the focus mechanism and how to change it.

Those kinds of comments are extremely helpful. They make me Want to take better photos.
    Thank you,
    Nick V

Thank, Niko. It was a tamron 90 2.8 macro I borrowed from my dad. One sentence review of that lens: I'm not a huge fan of it for high contrast or non-macro work.

Nick - if You really want some comment, than here I am (I'm in dark mood today, so sorry if I'll be to rough for You):

Adam, I'm glad you give constructive criticism. Not evryone has a knack for pointing out ways to improve, but you do. I have a sister who is the same way, and I've always thought it makes compliments that much sweeter.

Like the duck picture the best. I think we need to start a PP thread or 2.

ja - love the composition of Your shot, it's not very often when You see a dragonfly shot and it's surroundings. the details are incredible - and also a good example that You don't need Nikon lenses to take good (IQ) photos; just wonder how this photo will look like when You darken the background a little bit

gentoo - very moody picture, nice strong colors

Your original compliment means so much more to me now, Niko. ;-)
    Thanks, Adam.

smarterchild, welcome to the forum. I love the eyes in that cat shot, and that's great B&W treatment (I'm assuming you're not shooting B&W like chris).

Hmm, i might have to do that! I just figure that the calenders would have a single photographer work to produce the pictures as on a assignment versus people submitting the work for each indiviual month. And im in no position to be hired for a job like that. Im a senior in high school haha though ive done several weddings
