So, do people want to update us on 2010 resolutions and list any photographic New Year's resolutions for the coming year?
My report:
I bought neither the 24-70 2.8 nor the 70-200 2.8 VRII. My yearning for both may be satisfied this year with a 24-120 f/4 (we'll see, right?).I had less time for photography than I thought I would and had to turn down a few paid shoots to finish up my degree so I also had less money for photography, especially with a broken car and a move after graduation.
2011 resolution:
Get caught up on photo backups. I got behind on post-processing my personal photos for reasons described above, and I can't bring myself to spend the time burning backup disks until I've got them all edited. I'm almost caught up now by using my time off during the holidays.Posted 2 years ago # -
My 2011 new years resolution would be
-Buy a Second FX body (D800) and re-buy the 85 1.4 (cancelled my order for me to instantly buy the D800 when released)
-Shoot more, Get more paid jobs
-Advertise myself more. (getting out to high schools and brides to be!)
-Create a website where I can sell my photographs to clients via online proofing
-Create a organize system for backing up my files.
-Shoot more B&W film
-Prepare for a 365 Polaroid a day project for 2012 (MONEYMONEYMONEY!) Hoping TIP makes a constant SX-70 film
-Shoot more :)
-Try to have a job of some sort every weekPosted 2 years ago # -
Like many have said. Try to work outside my comfort zone. Try some new things that may help expand the photographic style I use.
oh and get a d700.
then maybe sell it and buy a d800 when it is released=)And... Convince the manager/wife that I need the Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter.

My resolution is to not make any resolutions

I'm pretty happy with the shooting aspect of things, so perhaps apart from another body as and when funds allow (my wife wants me to swap mine for a buff 21 year old, but that's another subject entirely - ROFL)...
I'm only partly happy with my 'digital darkroom', so at least I won't have to spend many, many days of sweat and toil in blacked-out or dimly lit chemical filled rooms to get that aspect of my photography better...
So what else is on my list...
I resolve to improve the end result, be it on print or on screen. Guess that means that it's back to sitting in front of the PC screen for days on end :(
Oh yes, and when *I* win the lotto, I will buy one of EVERYTHING from the Nikon camera catalog and just play for a while.... *SIGH* :)

- Create a hardcopy portfolio
- Create a portfolio website
- Score some small jobs
- Spend less money on gear, spend more time taking pics (gear is good, vision is better)Posted 2 years ago # -
I think I'll keep my goals simple:
1. Shoot more
2. Shoot better
3. Learn postPosted 2 years ago # -
I will PP my last year's photos :D

Mine are to focus on b&w, build out my new photo blog until it does what I want, and cut the commute out of my life so I have more time to spend shooting every day.
Good luck people!
