I will make a resolution to get all my pictures organized, and find a smarter way to market my BMX pictures.
I hope to learn to post process my pictures better and more effective
I want to take a photographic trip somewhere, a week or more with my camera and lots of memory cards, either complete planned or just wing it from day to day

One more thing I want to enter this BBC nature photo competition with maybe a picture of a Black Bear jumping over a fence, I wonder how high a fence a Black Bear can jump over.
Anyway the Bears are hibernating until spring so I have some time to figure this picture out. I wonder what it cost to rent a bear for a few hours and if PETA will sue me or something for making a Bear jump that fence. Now I don't think I will do the night time flash shot, what if the Bear gets a bit angry and decides to help me delete a few pictures

Anyway, here's my resolution
Buy Nikon or Canon FX camera plus corresponding lenses 24-70mm 2.8 and 80-200mm 2.8
Apply to as many jobs as a second shooter for wedding photogs as possible.
Score a job.
Start earning enough to move out of the house.
Finish college asap. Have a 4.0 GPA
I think ill attempt to spend less money on gear, less time at extra work, and more time behind the camera, and less time at the local strip bar (with the camera).
Now that I have a FX body I will try to just focus on shooting whenever I can and concern myself less with gear. I finally have everything I want so there are no more excuses anymore not to get the images I want. Already I can actually see that my previous noise troubles with my D300 are now gone all the way to Iso 3200 and sometimes even 6400 with the D700 I am so happy. The D3s must be scary with it's Iso ability.
Be more consistent.

NSXTyp-R great answer! I'd second that. I badly need a course for curves and masking options I am failing everytime I use them on CS4...
Buy 70-200 2.8 version 2 or 24-70 2.8 if they add VR.

* Work out a good workflow for my linux system.. I have finally got rid of windows !! but was used to PSP.

Besides, you could also use Wine and run PSP on Linux, haven't tested it but it might work.
I use Gimp for whatever Aperture can't do. So I use it rarely.
Usually I just use it to correct distortion.
I do use gimp.. But for some things where I need to process hundreds of pictures quickly. I need an aperture clone for linux. For that the new bibbleproV5 looks really nice. I have been playing with the beta. But still need to work out the best way to both bibble and gimp in the most optimised way! The darn thing does not support RAW for my fuji camera yet.. Version 4 does. So I am hoping that V5 will as well. Just that it does not do so at the moment !! I just don't want to waste my time on the software if it does not support my RAW files. Gimp works fine on my RAW files :-)
Curious to get a report on your experiences with bibble, heartyfisher. I Linux host Lightroom through a VirtualBox XP guest.
Will Adobe Camera Raw convert your fuji raw files? It /might/ run through WINE (too lazy to check) but Lightroom and Photoshop won't.
I have not had much play time with bibble V5. The beta for V5 is free to play with. Its stable. Fast compared to V4. It is also able to use the multi core CPU to the fullest so If you are doing some high CPU Transformations it sure does speed though those! I cant really do a good comparison with other software as I dont use aperture or lightroom. But it is nice and easy to sort and manage photos. You can do some interesting things to the pictures like crop, saturation, high/low light recovery, rotate, noise, curves etc... . It doesn't actually do stuff to the pictures so the originals are not changed, which is great. It creates an associated file in the directory... Its really a very nice program. I intend to buy it if it supports my Raw.. well maybe even if it does not support my raw files since I am only going to use it for quick and dirty manipulations.
With regard to raw files . I use the ones that came with linux and gimp. works fine for me so I dont need to wine acr. Integrates well with Gimp.
Re-organize my photos on my hard drives.

A better New Years resolution- get rich so I can afford the gear I want and hire someone to edit my photos for me.

Hadnt joined when this thread was up but my goals for THIS year would be
Take more photos
Orgainize the photos i already have (delete unwanted worthless)
Shoot more film and develop that film
Get more wedding and photoshoot jobs
Take self portraits
Buy a 6x6 medium format camera or cheap 4x5
Got 2 out of my 5 :-) and I dont need 1 of them any more so more than 50% done so not too bad. I have half a year to go ! yah. Got my new PC and a new work flow. now to just process the back log and take much more pictures...
