The Nikon Rumors Thread that keeps on giving! haha One year later and still relevant :)D

This year people may want to take a long look at the 28-300mm and the Sb-700 flash. Thanks to Leica getting my money in September I won't be buying anything else for quite a while. I just need a light meter for my Leica but thats not Nikon related. Maybe one of those cool Nikon mugs from one of my nieces? ^^

Hmmm from me to me. A D7000! Maybe a Sigma 8-16mm to go with it.

And there's always next year kanuck! As we don't want to upset Niko by starting a new thread, this one could run and run, in 10 years time you might want to ring Guinness!

Haha, this is an awesome thread- a year from then and still wishing for that 105mm 2.8.

At least I'm still saving up for it.

I've pretty much given myself one too many camera related gifts already this year. So I will go with some fresh ideas and the time to go grab some shots.

    I think I can count my 80-200mm AF-S as my X-mas gift.

I have money all ready to buy the MB-D11 but I think I'll need to divert it to more presents so it's be cool if somehow I got that for X-Mas.

Other than that I really miss having a 35 f/1.8.

Haha, I know that feeling. Fortunately my wife knows nothing about camera equipment, I walk in the house with something new that I've just spent a whole heap of money on........she sees it..........and has no idea! Ignorance is bliss! (This confession will self destruct in 10 seconds).

I'd like Santa to walk into Nikon head office in Japan and slap Makoto Kimura in the face, and tell him to stop announcing equipment unless it's ready to ship...I'm tired of waiting 4,5 months for equipment that some people in obscure places already seem to have.

if your in japan then you may as well just by the equipment and save the slap for someone else.

    re-read the post;

    so..
ask santa to buy the equipment and bring it to you for xmas.

Well, Santa is pretty powerfull, he can fly no? So perhaps I could ask for a D800 or better a D4.

Will see how many xmas passes by before I get this.

Oh boy, lots on the list... top two would be a Think Tank Retrospective 20 and 70-200mm ƒ/2.8 VR (not version 2). I think I'll be waiting a while for that 2.8 though... :/

Looking at the Nikon 14-24mm 2.8. However as I already have received the Nikon 80-400mm and the micro Nikkor 105mm 2.8 vr this year, I am not holding my breath.
    Dreaming is good though.

I'd like Santa to bring me a D3s, but that isn't going to happen. I think I might be lucky if I get any Nikon branded products at all.

I know that feeling too. I tell my wife something cost half as much as it acutally did and she gives me that look like it was twice as much as I should have spent!

The lens mug sounds pretty cool though too. I could be happy with that.

Yes and full marks Skintbrit for doing a forum search because this topic lay dead for 11 months (obviously after Christmas season passed) and not starting up a copied thread. Niko will be impressed :)

Treckie, I really think a lens would be a nice gift as well. They started off only being available in Canon and were scarce, but now they are all over the internet. I'd like a nice fat Nikkor 14-24mm mug actually. Too bad the real 14-24 didn't weigh the same as the mug! Also you might have to be careful if your had a little too much Christmas cheer you might poor your beverage into the real lens instead of the mug! Could you image?! "No more rum and eggnog for Johnny oops oh no...too...late...."

Maybe a D800 of a late christmas present..... In the mean time I'd like a pinhole body cap for my trusty old D200.
