Does anyone know what the real focal lengths are on the Lomography Lenses

And by focal length, I mean normal 35mm focal length that all lenses are measured with.

The Lomography web site is total out to lunch, below info from their site on the 35mm lens

One area:

The Diana F+ 38mm Super Wide Lense on a 35 mm is equivalent to a 72mm standard lens. Used on a APS-C sensor DSLR it has the effect of a 115mm tele lens!

Second area:

Roughly equivalent to a 25mm lens on a standard 35mm camera (a yielding a 120° view angle), this classic super-wide perspective is a favorite of street photographers and photojournalists the world over. Images scream with detail; the distinct Diana look of vignetting and dreaminess.

I think the Second area is correct, therefor the Lens is actual app a 35mm lens on FX and app equivalent to 52mm on DX

Please Niko/Admin or others that have these lenses, what is the app actual mm focal lengths. Also which 2 lenses should I get, one of my suppliers have them in stock now

Sorry Pete I haven't had time to post up a comparison. The weather has been bad too. Like I've said before your "conversion" is not correct. The 38mm is NOT like 115. The focal length is more or less around about 40mm on a DX camera.

As for which two lenses, I've already mentioned that I have been using the 38 and 110 the most.

The 20mm fisheye is wider than the 38 but straight lines start to distort a bit, but not to the extent that a fisheye would normally give. The only reason I use the 20mm is because it has a shorter focusing distance. I wouldn't recommend the 55mm. It's hard to focus and gives you similar results as the 38mm.

I thought you said you weren't in a hurry? You said you didn't plan to buy until sometime later next year?! Just get the 38mm and see how you like it. Trust me it's not as big of a "crop" as you think.

I believe the second area you mentioned, Pete. I think they were smoking something for that first area.

I think you were right in your first thread about these. The marked length has got to be the focal length (and that doesn't change based on format), so the 38mm will act like a 38mm lens (If you're using DX and are used to field of view from 35mm, it would have the field of view of a 57mm lens on an FX body).

Sorry for the hurry Niko, I was just given an offer from one of my suppliers, that I needed a manfrotto part from. Thanks for getting back to me. I think I will try the 38mm first with the Nikon F mount adapter

How is the weather in your part of the world, we have snow today, but not to cold

We had fog last night (pretty rare for Utah) and woke up to some pretty spectacular frost coating everything. I'll have to put up a picture in the PAD thread.

My parents drove back to Canada a week ago and was driving in snow from Salt Lake City all the way to their home
