if You want to go FF soon, than go for 50/1.4 it's better in all aspects, not to mention the build quality (50/1.8 fells kind a cheap to me)

I debated about the 50/1.4, and finally decided against it just because the 1.8 is Soo
much cheaper in price. I can use it; learn things about the camera/nikon photography and not worry about having a pricey lens.

If at a later date, I REALLY want the faster lens, then I can get it.
However, I can see that the search and lust for lens is a never ending activity...
    but Fun!

When you stop to think about it, Nick, isn't it crazy that you came to a gearhead site for advice and ended up spending lots less than you had initially expected to? I think that's crazy. Is it because we're pragmatic gearheads or are we just posers?

Oh just wait until the D700upgrade comes out. Then see who the posers are.
I really did decide to buy the D90 because of your comments, plus my reflection on what I would do...in the next year or so.

I can actually see myself enjoying having the Dwhatever00 AND the D90 at the same time. Picking one for particular shooting situation.
Of course, it is always possible that I will find the D90 all the camera I need. Ya think?
