There is something emotive about a portrait lens
A normal lens test will tell you very little
because you may not be too interested in overall sharpness, distortion, fall off etc
and if you unlucky enough to lose it , a direct replacement is unlikely to produce the same results

You can only have one favorite at a time, but you can tell about past favorites
