Rob Galbraith:
PhotoFast CompactFlash cards are not widely available. In the United States, for example, they're sold by a single dealer currently. You can also expect service and support to be minimal in some places, in the event of a card error that requires expert recovery or you encounter some other mission critical problem.

Does anyone know if they are reliable?

Monty, I have both of the Faster 8GB/16GB cards and haven't had any issue with them. Although I have only had them for about 3 weeks, they are working great. for the long term I will have to let you know. But so far I they are working fine.

not bad for something local, but I prefer the new Sandisk extreme 16gb(60mb/s) for $105 shipped on Ebay.

I don't think I'd trust 16 or 32gb of pictures and video to a relatively "new" manufacturer.

What scares me even more is the likelihood that it isn't a "new" manufacturer (as there aren't many flash fabs out there) but rather a reseller of some other manufacturer's chips. How you sell someone else's product at lower prices than them means one of a very few things:
1 - You bought in bulk and are reselling at lower piece margins than the manufacturer. (Think Revol Wireless, etc)
2 - You buy "seconds" and recertify them yourself. (Think Staples brand optical media)
3 - You buy "seconds" and DON'T recertify them yourself. (Think Burlington Coat Factory)
(I'm sure there's a 4, 5, 6, 7, etc - but these are the big three)

#1 isn't scary - except you rarely can expect the service (warranty, etc) you would have gotten otherwise.
Most the other possibilities are scary as ManBearPig on a bender when it comes to your photos, IMHO.

are the prices really so hot to trust them... not in my opinion, I wouldn't risk my pictures. if some of You are looking for a cheap and reliable CF go for PQI - have couple of their cards, and never had any problems. however, if You can afford it, go for Sandisk or Lexar.

What's the opinion on SanDisk vs. Lexar?

I've been using SanDisk, but that's just because of brand loyalty. The only Lexar card I have is like 8mb or something—came with an early Coolpix.

My name is Hugh Toward and I own CameraCard.Ca. I am a Nikon D300 owner who traveled to Asia and bought CF cards there, the Cards were much cheaper than in Canada, I was not really surprised by this, but what did surprise me was American pricing was only a bit more than in Asia.

Canadian prices for CF Cards are higher than the US prices. For example the current US price for a -Transcend 133x 16GB CF card is $65.95 (at Transcend USA – and they will not ship to Canada) and the Montreal price is $129.99. Just because you pay more money in Canada does not make it a better card.

My business strategy is to bring the world pricing to Canadian markets. I choose the PhotoFast brand as it was not well represented in Canada, I import directly from the factory. PhotoFast has specialized in producing the fastest cards CF, primarily for the Japanese market. At this time increasing their market visibility in other markets, PhotoFast are a leader and the first company to commercially produce, the next generation of CF card the CFast.

These cards got a great review from Rob Galbraith.

CameraCard.Ca only ships within Canada; typical delivery is 2-3 working days.
