Wait so you had this monitor for a year and you're only now noticing this problem?

Hahahaha, no I've definitely noticed this for a long time, and many times I have tried to fix it, but never have I actually been so aggressive about it. I just recently got into more precise color editing and then about 3 weeks ago started to put stuff on tumblr regularly, which is when it started getting to ridiculous to stand.

Well then it looks like you're just going to have to get use to it until you have the moola to buy a replacement. Honestly it's not that bad is it? If you're not selling your prints and you're not doing color critical print jobs then I say don't worry about it.

Do you have the latest drivers for it? Is mac even compatible with it? What if you don't download your photos from the monitor's card reader anymore?

Have you looked at your mac's color sync settings? I still think it's a matter of just telling your mac not to use Dell's color.

No new drivers, I've used the USB SD card reader and it doesn't change anything, and I believe that that color profile is what the Spyder3 generated...

What about your mac's system settings? Don't use the profile Spyder3 gave you?

After some investigation, I have found that it defaulted back to the monitors default color profile. I changed it back to what the Spyder did and the color is better, however not fixed. Photos that I view in Firefox are still not quite right. I could change my whole display to sRGB but it really seems like that blows out all of my pictures and I might be tempted, in editing, to completely murder the color.

What if I just go to bed now and be thankful I don't have your problem? :^p

Seriously though I don't know what else to suggest to you. Sorry Kellen :^(

Oh, we're good. I think that the simple fact is that Dell has made a monitor that doesn't handle color profiles very well, and that's the long and short of it. Thanks a lot for your help, though. This has been a valuable learning experience in color spaces, hahaha.

Well we gave it a shot. Unless someone else has any other suggestions for a solution...
