WT-4 Setup Utility will not configure WT-4 when connected to D3s

The WT4 Setup utility wants me to go to the Setup Menu and select USB to make sure the camera is set for MTP/PTP. The D3s does not have a USB option in the Setup Menu. The User's guide does not list one either. The D3 manual does list one.
The best I can tell the D3s is by default in the MTP/PTP mode so you really don't need the Menu Item.
I have installed the latest WT4 Setup Utility and and Thumbnail utility.

Wrote up a problem report from the Nikon Support web page but so far no communication or resolution. I can't find any other way to report the problem. This pro gear so I assumed it would be worked on immediately.

Welcome to the forum, Larry. Not sure I'll be a lot of help, but I'll try. What firmware version is installed on the WT-4 and what camera were you using this with before?

I'm sorry. I was reading something at nikon's support site and I misread it to say there is a firmware version for the transmitter itself. It was actually talking about the camera's firmware, which wouldn't apply in this situation. I think I nailed it when I said I wouldn't be a lot of help.

Okay, this is turning into a comedy of errors. Now it seems to me like it does say it's possible to update the firmware of the WT-4. Is there a way you can check the version on the other camera?

You're right about the switch to MTP/PTP being the only USB mode, so the menu entry for it is gone. I think that happened when the D700 and D90 were released. That's why I suspect you'll need to upgrade the WT-4's firmware to version 1.1. If it's already there, I don't know what else to suggest.

Thanks for the information. I was able to upgrade the firmware in the WT-4 from 1.0 to 1.1 using the D3s. This is the first time I have tried to setup the WT-4 as it only works with the D3 and I don't have any other D3 cameras. Hopefully Nikon will get back to me so we can all learn how to do this.
