No hood attachment. It's all part of the lens.

Looks Russian or older German design, and by the angle it should be somewhere from 20 to 28 ...

I think mb's right about it being wide angle. Look at the curvature of the front element. I'm guessing 24mm.

I think it's a Diana-F lens adapted to Nikon. Looks like an awful, plastic lens.

We Have A Winner!!! Aww...you ruined the fun astrophotog :^)

It is in fact the Diana F+ 110mm lens. I got my hands on one and have been trying it out. So anyone want to guess what camera it's mounted to? :^)

OK, all those who thought is was a Zeiss, raise your hand.

    You should be ashamed ;-)

Actually I first thought it was some projector lens adapted to Nikon.

You should have said it was a projector lens! That would be so cool!

It actually does look a lot like a Zeiss lens...in my picture anyway :^)

I'd love to see a head-to-head between this lens and a Zeiss! Hey exit here come over to my house and let's have a Diana F+ versus Zeiss face off! :^)

My suspicion was it was an old Soligor or some obscure Russian lens, I was wrong.
Zeiss has better made rings so it was obviously not a Zeiss lens, I am not sure about IQ though ;P

It's actually very refreshing to use this lens. You don't have to worry about getting the focus right (you won't) or having everything perfectly exposed (It's not). It's like converting and using your camera like a Kodak Brownie. It's up to you to make the shot not the camera!

I have the Zeiss 85/1.4 and this ain't nothin' like it. Actually Niko, I also thought of the comparison to a Brownie. But to samples I've seen make a Brownie look like a pro camera. All depends on your artistic tastes.

I know this lens isn't for everyone. It's definitely not but that's what makes it so special. I'd like to think I'm a pretty creative chap :^) So I'm having fun with this lens. There will be samples for all to see very soon.
