I need clarification, Now that we have three PAD threads (which I think is a great idea BTW), Are we allow to post one photo in more than one thread or is it still one photo per user?

Hey Gentoo if you look really hard you will find that this is actually a bird shot

But seriously I think we should have only one dedicated PAD thread a month and the other should be free style…Posted 3 years ago # -
I guess this is the best topic to put this under. I had to get in the spirit of Christmas. Maybe the PODs should be named after the way we classify nouns...people, places, things. Just a thought.

great capture tiongsonf. Welcome to the forum :^)

below my contribution for today
D90 + bigma@500mm
PBrigido - nice captue (buliding picture), as for the xmas theme, I like the composition on the first one, however don't like the execution (this flash/light mark in the upper right corner)
gentoo - I really like Your second shot, great composition and nice lightning, very moody
regulator - very nice shot, love the perspective
tiongsonf - welcome to the forum, nice composition, I'm surprised that d300 is so noisy at iso 1600, if You have a chance to recapture this photo once again, try to use longer shutter speed to make the cars lights into light line, as this would look great on this photo IMHO

Nice shot adamz. My moon shots were basically the same as yours. I used my D200 and my Sigma @500mm with the 1.4 TC attached (guess it is really 700mm then). Strangely enough, after I got my D700 and attempted the same thing again, the camera wasn't able to focus on the Moon @ 500mm...neither in Manual or Auto mode. I guess it is not really meant for an FX camera. Also, I noticed after a few round of shooting the moon that the angle which the Sun hits the moon can really bring out greater depth as opposed to straight on. Even though I prefer the idea of the full Moon shot, I found my half Moon shot is one I prefer. The difference between the two is huge when viewing the full size.

Pbrigido - I think that the first one has some motion blur, the second one is great - will need to play a little bit with my camera to get a such a stunning shot like Yours :); BTW: which sigma You own?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Thanks! I own the Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 and used the 1.4 TC. When I took that first shot I was on my upper level deck with a wired trigger. Even though it seemed steady, I am sure there were a few "shakes" that contributed to the motion blur. The 2nd one I went to my driveway and used a wireless trigger. It really helped in the end.

That looks like a UFO tiongsonf!
Here's how you post your photos so that they show up instead of a link. Just type it all like it is below but in between the " " you paste the link to your image. Then your photos should show up.
